Harry A. Bearley Jr., 92, of Atwood, Kansas, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, in Colby, Kansas.
Harry was born on May 18, 1934, in Atwood, Kansas, to Harry A. Bearley Sr. and Effie (Palmer) Bearley. He was the youngest of six children. He grew up north of Atwood alongside his siblings, Wilber "Bill," Albertina, Richard "Bud," Effie, and Retta.
Harry graduated from Atwood High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he attended college in Nebraska, where he met Katherine "Kathy" Seybold of Trenton, Nebraska. Their union was blessed with three children: Vicki, Charlene, and Tab.
Harry enjoyed a full and active life. In his later years, he shared many happy adventures with his longtime partner, Doris Duden. Together they loved traveling, fishing, attending Shriner and Masonic Lodge events, and visiting classic car shows. Harry valued fellowship, family, and the friendships he made throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wilber "Bill" Bearley and Richard "Bud" Bearley; sisters, Albertina Bearley and Retta Bearley; his wife, Katherine Bearley; daughters, Vicki Bearley and Charlene Bearley; and granddaughter Sarina.
Harry is survived by his longtime partner, Doris Duden; his sister, Effie Fields; his son, Tab (Tami) Bearley; grandchildren, Aly (Tim) Russ, MacKenzie (Julian) Velazquez, Erika (Nate) Lundy, Dallas (Jessica) Fickel, Zeb Ruda, and Zack (Sara) Ruda; great-grandchildren, Graysen Russ, Cameron Russ, Jalen Nelson, Kayson Ruda, Kinsley Ruda, and Wyatt Ruda; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A private family graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Atwood, Kansas followed by a public Celebration of Life, Saturday, September 5, at 3:00 p.m. at the Atwood Country Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Atwood Masonic Lodge No. 164 and mailed in care of Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 391, Colby, KS 67701.
