As many of you have been talking we wanted to throw out a quick community update about what’s going on:

There was an accident on I-70 where the driver of the vehicle left the scene on foot. Officers are actively out looking for the subject to get further information. Last known to be in the Mitten’s area. The school is on shelter in place strictly as a precautionary measure. The subject is a white male, 5’6, approximately 180 lbs, dark brown hair with a brown short beard. He was given a ride to mittens by a citizen. He is wearing a black shirt, jeans with holes, glasses, and a backwards baseball cap. He is not thought to pose a threat to the public but officers wish to speak with him about the accident. If seen, please contact the Oakley Police Department. We have attached a photo."
