Small Fender Bender Leaves Four Lightly Injured in Thomas County

On Friday, May 22nd, a little after 1:30 pm in Thomas County, two vehicles were traveling Southbound on Country Club Drive in Thomas County, when one vehicle tried passing the other, clipping the second vehicle, and causing a small accident.


The first vehicle, a 2008 Pontiac G6, driven by 28-year-old Brittany Fringer of Hays, Kansas, and carrying two children, was traveling behind the second vehicle, a 2018 Ravo 5 Series Street Sweeper, driven by 50-year-old Matthew Hayes of Colby, Kansas, heading Southbound about half a mile South of U24 and Country Club Drive.


The first vehicle tried moving to the left lane to pass the second vehicle, but struck the rear of them, causing them both to end up off course. Vehicle one ended up facing Northwest in the center of the lanes, and vehicle two ended facing Southbound on the curb.


Everyone involved was taken to Citizens Medical Center in Colby due to suspected minor injuries. Everyone was wearing a safety restraint according to the Kansas Highway Patrol - Online Crash Logs.
