It's one of the busiest weeks of the summer across northwest Kansas! County fairs are in full swing, classic tractors roll into Bird City, concerts, rodeos, races, parades, and family fun fill the calendar. Here's a look at some of the biggest events happening across the NWKS Radio listening area.


Thomas County Fair (July 26 - August 1) - Colby


The Thomas County Fair continues all week with plenty of activities for all ages.


Highlights include:


Monday & Tuesday: NSRA Rodeo at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday: Free Community BBQ at 5:30 p.m. followed by a free Phil Vandel concert.

Thursday: Thomas County Community Foundation's Free Breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the 4-H Building.

Friday: Thomas County Speedway races beginning at 8 p.m.

Saturday: Demolition Derby at 7:30 p.m.


Don't forget the Colby Parade on Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m., plus all the livestock shows, exhibits, carnival rides, fair food, and family activities throughout the week.


Wallace County Fair (July 29 - August 1) - Sharon Springs


Celebrate "250 Years of Red, White, and Moos" at this year's Wallace County Fair!

4-H Livestock Auction

Friday night: Free WESKO concert at 8 p.m. Mountain Time

It's a full weekend of hometown fair fun for the entire family.


73rd Annual Tri-State Antique Engine & Thresher Show (July 30 - August 1) - Bird City


History comes alive in Bird City during one of northwest Kansas' favorite traditions.


This year's show features American-made tractors along with Orphans and Oddballs.


Visitors can enjoy:

Corn grinding

Steam engines

Sawmill and blacksmith demonstrations

Tractor pulls

Parades

Steam engine rides

Vendors and swap meet

Museums

Kids activities

Northwest Kansas District Free Fair - Goodland (August 1-8)


The Northwest Kansas District Free Fair kicks off Saturday in Goodland.


Opening weekend includes:


Carnival rides

Livestock competitions

Ranch Rodeo

Big Air ATV & Motorcycle Freestyle Show

Kiwanis Demolition Derby

Drone show

Fair food

Goodland Parade at 6 p.m.


The fair continues through August 8.


Kit Carson County Fair - Burlington, Colorado (July 25 - August 1)


The Kit Carson County Fair wraps up this weekend with plenty of excitement.


Saturday night's PRCA Rodeo will be followed by a concert from The Kentucky Headhunters, making for a great evening just across the Colorado state line.

Goodland Summer Matinee featuring "The Croods" at the Sherman Theatre.

Free Imani Milele Children's Choir concert from Uganda at Harvest Evangelical Free Church in Goodland at 6:30 p.m. Mountain Time.


Saturday


9th Annual Jennings American Legion Dice Run with registration from 9 to 10 a.m.

Thomas County Farmers Market from 9 a.m. until noon at Fike Park in Colby.
