Goodland USD 352 BOE Meeting Recap

Bill Biermann 7-15-26

Goodland USD 352 Superintendent Bill Biermann joined the Good Neighbor Hour to recap the latest Board of Education meeting, which was held on Monday, July 13th.

The first item Biermann discussed, which he said took up most of the time during the meeting, was a recap of assessments from last school year. Melanie Daise, Curriculum and Assessment Coordinator, led that discussion about the data and numbers from the previous school year.

Biermann then mentioned that Bart Construction was at the meeting to give an update on the Career and Tech Ed building. Bart Construction will attend the first BOE meeting every month to continue to give updates on this project. Biermann noted how important this project is for Goodland Schools.

"We really needed a new building to meet the educational needs of our students today...so that's started and it will take about nine months to complete."

The board also had some small discussions regarding the budget, renewing a membership with the Western Plains Arts Association, and the board got their first look at the handbooks.

The next regular meeting for the Board of Education has been moved to Wednesday, July 29th, due to a Kansas Department of Education conference that interferes with the regularly scheduled meeting time.

You can listen to the Good Neighbor Hour on Rockit 102.5 KLOE every weekday morning from 5:30-7 am Mountain.
