The start of the school year came and went for USD 352, with the first day of classes starting on Thursday, August 20th. In the morning of Wednesday, August 12th, the Citizen's Health Center in Colby held an in-person press conference to announce a new partnership between Citizen's and the KU Cancer Center. Many community members were in attendance at this press conference, as well as Senator Jerry Moran, who has been in close ties with helping this partnership underway.

Sports physicals are a necessity for high school athletes, and thanks to the Goodland Regional Medical Center, kids can get them for free on Tuesday, August 11th, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm Mountain at Goodland High School.

During the latest legislative session for the State of Kansas, House Bill 2299 was passed, which banned the use of cell phones and personal use electronics in schools. Many school districts have already implemented new policies to adhere to the new legislation, one of which is Colby Public Schools, USD 315.

For the second year in a row, NWKS Radio has a station that has been awarded Station of the Year by the Kansas Association of Broadcasters. KLOE FM has been awarded the amazing honor this year, as well as many other NWKS Radio staff members winning individual awards.
