Don W. Coonrod was born December 3, 1940 on the farm in rural Munden, KS to Wesley and Esther (Dugger) Coonrod and passed away November 6, 2025 at the age of 84. Don grew up in rural Munden attending Munden High School. He later attended and graduated from Brown Mackie College with an Associates Degree in Business. Don worked for Orscheln’s Farm Store for over 25 years retiring as the manager of the Goodland, KS location.

The family lived on the Ralston Purina Research Farm at Grey Summit where Bob’s dad was manager of the poultry department. He could tell many stories of farm activities and meeting visitors from other countries.

She graduated from Colby High School with the Class of 1980. On February 19, 1982, she was united in marriage to Gary Wade Jackson in Colby, KS.

Ferman was the fourth child born into this family: Janet M. Collins, of Oakley, Ernest L. Gibson (deceased), Larry L. Gibson (deceased) and Amby L. Gibson (deceased).

John Lee “Jack” Ostmeyer, 85, of Oakley, died Friday, October 17, 2025. Jack was born July 9, 1940, in Oakley, the son of Tony and Armella (Schwebach) Ostmeyer. Jack was a proud Oakley Plainsman graduating with the class of 1958. Jack married Billi Munk in 1960. Together they had three sons, Jeff, Pat, and Todd. After Billi's passing in 1967 when the boys were 3, 4, and 6, he married Ann (Mannebach-Ryan) in 1969 to which two children, Lisa and Rex were born.
