Hoxie to Participate in 2025 Highway 24 Garage Sale Weekend - June 5-7
Hoxie, Kan. ⸺ Sheridan County is once again joining more than 30 communities along the multi-state stretch of Highway 24 for one of the biggest shopping weekends in the Midwest: the Highway 24 Garage Sale, set for June 5, 6, and 7, 2025.
Each year on the first weekend in June, neighborhoods, families, and businesses along Highway 24 in Kansas and Colorado hold local garage sales to create an epic three-day sale event. This unique collaboration not only boosts community spirit but also drives tourism, travel, and local commerce.
The Sheridan County Community Foundation & Economic Development group is proudly serving as the local coordinator for the Hoxie event. Residents interested in participating must register their garage sales by Friday, May 16.
“There’s no better time to clean out your closets and turn clutter into cash,” said Karl Pratt, Executive Director. “Plus, your sale will be featured on both a mobile-friendly map and our locally printed version, making it easier for shoppers to find you.”
Garage Sale Registration Details:
· Deadline: Friday, May 16, 2025
· Fee: $15 per garage sale
· Register Online: www.sheridancountyks.gov/hwy24garagesales (or cut out the Registration Form advertisement in the newspaper).
· Payment: Cash or check (payable to Sheridan County Economic Development)

Business Owners—Get Involved!
Local businesses are also encouraged to participate by offering promotions or sidewalk sales during the event. To be included on the Highway 24 Garage Sales regional map, businesses must register with the Hwy 24 Travel Alliance and pay a $20 online listing fee. “This is a great opportunity to welcome travelers into your store, offer lunch specials, or highlight unique products,” added Pratt.
