A 15-year-old Levant boy was seriously injured Saturday morning in a rollover crash in Thomas County.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 8:35 am September 5th on U.S. 24, near milepost 48.
The KHP reported that a 1999 Ford F-150 was traveling eastbound when it left the roadway to the south. The driver overcorrected and returned to the roadway, causing the pickup to begin sliding sideways before entering the north ditch.
The truck then rolled multiple times before coming to rest on its wheels.
The driver, identified as 15-year-old Richard Steele Schroeder of Levant, was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported by EMS to Citizens Health in Colby with suspected serious injuries.
The crash report indicates Schroeder was not wearing a safety restraint at the time of the crash.
