California Woman Lightly Injured After Accident in Thomas County

Just after 10 pm on Sunday, May 10, a 2024 Subaru Ascent, driven by 28-year-old Ashley Nightingale of Brentwood, California, was headed Westbound on I-70 around mile marker 63 in Thomas County, when the driver spotted a large animal in the roadway. She performed an evasive maneuver, overcorrected, and struck the East guardrail.

Nightingale was taken to Citizens Medical Center with suspected minor injury. She was wearing a safety restraint according to the Kansas Highway Patrol - Online Crash Logs.
