Charles “Chuck” A. Ihrig, 82, of Goodland, Kansas passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025. He was born on October 25, 1943 as the oldest son to the late Arthur and Grace (Rhoads) Ihrig.
Chuck graduated from Sherman County Community High School in 1961. He continued his studies at Fort Hays State University, receiving his Bachelor’s degree in 1965. After completing some graduate study work, he joined the National Guard and served from 1967 to 1973.
Chuck was a lifelong Sherman County resident and a steward of the land. When he wasn’t working on the farm, he spent time traveling the United States. In his younger years, Chuck looked forward to taking to the skies in his plane. He spent many of his days off in Denver, where he and his friends enjoyed activities in the city, including polka dancing, which was one of his favorite things to do. Chuck was a proud member of Shriner’s, ELKS, and Nonpareil Group of Denver, Colorado.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Grace (Rhoads) Ihrig and brother, Roger Ihrig.
Chuck is survived by many friends and neighbors and his family, including nephews Justin (Amity) Ihrig and John (Tisha) Ihrig, and great nieces and nephews, Ella, Rhett, Slade (Anna Marie), Bodey, Gabriel, Blaise, Gianna, Roch, Cassian, Gemma, and Sienna Ihrig.
Memorial contributions may be made out to the Northwest Kansas Animal Shelter and may be left at the services or mailed to Koons-Russell Funeral Home, 211 N. Main Ave., Goodland, KS 67735.
