Well, at 21 years they're now legal to smoke and they'll be doing that back in
Atwood, Kansas. The annual Smoking on the Beaver. It's a barbecue smoking contest
and it's open to the public. Great food and a lot of activities.
September 27th and 28th all day, the 28th, a lot of activities. But contestants come in
Friday night and no admission. So come on in as you please and watch them set up
and see a lot of smoking going on September 27th.
Then Saturday the big day the gates open to the public at 12 noon on the 28th. They'll have the merchants booth opening at 12 and then exhibit artists on display from 1 to
5. Then live music throughout the day starting at 1 30 to 6 live music from
three different bands: Daniel Vidella, Haley Johnson, Jade, Marie, Patek and again
another band that night. 2 o'clock the kids fun zone will open and then open to
the public. They get the feast together and open to the public at 6 o'clock and that barbecue meal will be served under that smokehouse tent.
This is one of the best in the entire Midwest when it comes to a barbecue smoking competition. 6 o'clock again the feast, the barbecue under the tent. 7 o'clock the awards, raffle and auction and then 8 o'clock running the boys again with live music that night.
