Foundation Friday: Greater Northwest Kansas Community Foundation

It was another edition of Foundation Friday on the Good Neighbor Hour, so CEO of the Greater Northwest Kansas Community Foundation Karl Pratt joined the show to discuss how this year has gone for the foundation, how their match month in September went, and he highlighted a fund from the local area.
First off, in general, the GNWKSCF has had a tremendous year, raising money for funds and giving out grants to make the community better. Many new funds have also been created, and as of the interview, there are over 600 funds under this foundation.
Next, Pratt noted how well their Match Month went, which was the whole month of September. No numbers have been finalized, but as of now, their total donations were around $90,000 to a select few funds, which is incredible. Nearly six-figures going back to the Northwest Kansas Community.
Lastly, Pratt wanted to highlight a fund in Norton County and what the Norton Correctional Facility did with that fund. Residents of the facility had heard about some kids who were struggling with paying for school meals, so they raised money to put towards school meal debt for many families.
