Foundation Friday: Thomas County Community Foundation

It was another edition of Foundation Friday on the Good Neighbor Hour, and Jada Tubbs with the Thomas County Community Foundation joined Joel Navarro for an interview about recent happenings within the foundation.

The first item Tubbs wanted to cover was their recently celebrated 25th anniversary celebration. They had a great night celebrating their founders, past and present board members, and their many partners and fund holders. In total, they gave away $65,000. Below are the recipients and how much they received.

• Heartland Rural Counseling Services - $25,000

• Western Kansas Aquatic Center - $25,000

• Options: Domestic and Sexual Violence Services - $5,000

• City of Colby Recreation Department - $5,000

• Thomas County Historical Society - $5,000

Next, Tubbs mentioned a match day coming up during the holiday season. It is coming up on December 1st, which will be a dollar-for-dollar match for the foundation. Fund holders should be getting something in the mail regarding this day. This will be held at the Colby Event Center, and the pool is increasing from $35,000 to $50,000.
