Goodland Business Wins "To the Stars" Award from Kansas Department of Commerce
The Kansas Department of Commerce puts on the To the Stars Business Awards Ceremony every year, to recognize businesses across the entire state in many different categories. There are multiple regions, and in the Northwest Region, Goodland's very own Design's Unlimited, owned by Christie Rasure, won an award for Retail/Service.
Christie joined News Director Lucas Kenney to talk about her business and what this award means to her.
First off, this year marked 15 years of Designs Unlimited in Goodland. Christie had been doing business for longer, her business Designs Unlimited has now been around for a decade plus.
Fun fact, Christie didn't even think this award was real. When she had received the phone call telling her she had won, she almost didn't believe it. Especially with spam calls nowadays, she was pretty skeptical and didn't know what to think of it until Bert Mosier with Sherman County Community Development congratulated her after seeing it online.
When asked who she would like to thank, Christie first thanked the woman who nominated her for this award, but she also left a heartfelt thank you to her customers. Without them, they would not be able to do what they do, so that was the main thank you she wanted to give out.
