The Goodland High School basketball teams opened up the 2025-26 season hosting the Cimarron Bluejays on Friday night inside the Max Jones Field House, and GHS convincingly won both contests.
In the early game of the night, the Cowgirls continued their dominance of Cimarron by rolling past the Bluejays 48-19. Goodland was led by senior Libby Cure, who had 13 points & four rebounds. Fellow senior Hope Biermann added 10 points for GHS, who has won ten straight over Cimarron. Senior Taegan Eskam was Cimarron's top scorer with 13 points.
In the nightcap, the Goodland Cowboys cruised to a 77-43 win over the Bluejays. It was the first game of a new era of Cowboys basketball as GHS lost their head coach, Mikey Doll, and a senior class that accounted for 86% of their offensive production from a season ago.
Despite all that, there looked to be no dropoff. New head coach (and former Cowboy) Dawson Raymer led his group of inexperienced varsity players to a dominant win. Senior Braylon Mull and sophomore Konnor Collett led Goodland with 25 points each in a game that Goodland led from the tip. The Cowboys have now won seven in a row over Cimarron.
Up Next: Goodland will host the Topside Tipoff Tournament starting Thursday, December 11th, at Goodland's Max Jones Field House.
