Grass Fire in Gove County Reported

UPDATE 2:18 PM CST: According to Gove County Deputy Mike Haase, the grass fire between mile markers 83 and 84 has been 90% contained as of 1:56 pm CST.

No structures have been damaged and no injuries have been reported at this time.

Well, we have several reports into NWKS radio about a large grass fire in Gove County. Boy, we knew conditions were right.

This fire is rapidly growing and several area fire departments EMS responding. So be aware of Gove County near Grinnell, mile post 84. So you're gonna see a lot of responders to that area. This fire is growing less than I knew it was near a cornfield getting into a cornfield and affecting getting real close to tank batteries.

So thoughts to area fire departments out there and officials at a responding again, Gove County near Grinnell, mile post 84 near Grinnell, Kansas on Interstate 70.
