Revving Up for the 3rd Annual Graham CAAM Slam in Hill City

ree

Hill City is buzzing with excitement this weekend as the third annual Graham Cam Slam Car Show rolls into town! What started as a local event has quickly grown into a major attraction for car enthusiasts, families, and community members alike.

A Full Day of Activities

Of course, the cars are the main attraction, and the show officially kicked off at 8 a.m. this morning. But there’s much more to enjoy beyond shiny hoods and roaring engines. Visitors can also explore a craft fair and farmer’s market running all day, filled with handmade goods, local produce, and unique finds.

For the kids, the schedule is packed with fun. At 11 a.m., the Hot Wheels contest gets underway—always a hit with young racers. Just a bit later, at 11:45, there’s a brand-new attraction: a karate demonstration where kids can try out safe techniques and maybe even break a board or two.

Other can’t-miss events include:

  • 12:00 p.m. – Watermelon Eating Contest

  • 1:00 p.m. – Car Limbo Contest

  • 2:30 p.m. – Awards Ceremony & Raffle Drawings

  • 3:00 p.m. – Burnout Competition (a smoky, rubber-filled crowd favorite!)

And the fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down—there’s a street dance from 8–11 p.m., keeping the celebration rolling into the night.

Sunday Fun Run

The excitement continues Sunday with the annual Fun Run, where drivers take off from Palco and cruise their way to Webster Lake. It’s a scenic ride, a social event, and a perfect way to cap off the weekend.

Prizes, Raffles, and a Dream Car

One of the things that sets Graham Cam Slam apart is the quality of prizes. This year’s raffles include two homemade quilts, a Traeger grill, a flat iron grill, tool kits, cleaning kits, camping chairs, and more.

On top of that, the Masons are raffling off a 1967 GTO—yes, you read that right. One lucky winner could be driving home in a classic muscle car!

Inside the Museum: Cars & Art

The event is hosted in partnership with the Graham County Auto & Art Museum, which features a rotating collection of rare and historic automobiles. This weekend, visitors can also explore the Art Extravaganza, a special competition showcasing around 60 works of art. Guests are invited to vote for their favorite, and the People’s Choice Award will be handed out after the show.

A Growing Tradition

With great weather, high-quality cars, family-friendly events, and plenty of community spirit, the Graham Cam Slam is quickly becoming a must-attend annual tradition in Northwest Kansas. Whether you’re a gearhead, a foodie, or just looking for a fun way to spend the weekend, Hill City is the place to be.

Be sure to follow the Graham County Auto and Art Museum on Facebook for updates, photos, and future event details. And if you can’t make it this weekend, plan a trip to the museum anytime—it’s always featuring something new.
