The world of rock has lost one of its most iconic voices. Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary frontman of Black Sabbath and a trailblazing solo artist, has died at the age of 76, according to a statement from his family. Known as the "Prince of Darkness," Osbourne was a pioneering force in heavy metal and hard rock for over five decades.
From his haunting vocals on Black Sabbath classics like "Paranoid," "Iron Man," and "War Pigs," to his solo hits like "Crazy Train," "Mr. Crowley," and "Mama, I’m Coming Home," Ozzy carved out a legacy like no other. His larger-than-life personality, wild antics, and undeniable talent made him a cultural icon—both on the stage and off.
In recent years, Osbourne had been open about his health struggles, including a Parkinson’s diagnosis and spinal issues following an accident in 2019. Despite these challenges, he remained a fighter, continuing to record music and connect with fans around the globe.
At NWKS Radio's RockIt 102.5, we honor the legacy of Ozzy Osbourne the only way we know how—by cranking up the volume and playing the music that changed rock history. Tune in all week as we feature music from Ozzy.
