Sherryl Yvonne Ketter passed away on October 31, 2026, in Goodland, Kansas. She was born on July 23, 1945, in St. Francis, Kansas, to Clifford and Eleanor Yvonne (Juhl) Sexson. Sherryl lived a life marked by kindness, devotion, and a deep love for her family and friends.

Sherryl graduated from Fairview High School in Boulder, Colorado, and later attended Americana Beauty College in Denver, Colorado. She went on to work for many years as a beautician and owned Nu Look Salon in St. Francis. After moving to Ruleton in 1989, she began serving as the office manager at the Sherman County Health Department in Goodland. In both her personal and professional life, she was known for being kindhearted, caring, and loving, with a wonderful personality that made others feel welcome and valued.

On November 14, 1964, she married Kenneth D. Ketter in Longmont, Colorado, beginning a marriage that remained at the heart of her life. Sherryl was a wonderful cook who found joy in the simple and meaningful pleasures of life. She loved crafting, reading, playing cards and games, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends. Those who knew her will remember the warmth she brought to gatherings and the steady love she gave so freely.

Her faith and community were also important parts of her life. Sherryl was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and Our Lady’s Guild in Goodland. She was also a member of Business Professional Women.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; her son, Michael and his longtime companion, Barbara Hotz of North Platte, Nebraska; and her daughter, Kristin of Wichita, Kansas. She also leaves her granddaughters, Michaela (Keithan) Cochran of Imperial, Nebraska, and MaKenna (Nate) Laible of Torrington, Wyoming; and her great-grandchildren, Kamree and Owen Cochran and Marlee Laible.

Sherryl is also survived by her brothers, David (Melanie) Sexson of Gordon, Nebraska, and Milton (Laura) Sexson of Ogallala, Nebraska; sisters-in-law, Connie Johnson of Liberal, Kansas, Karen (Vernon) Isaac of Goodland, Kansas, and Sherry (Don) Gilliland of Bird City, Kansas; and her brother-in-law, Gary Ketter of Dayton, Ohio. Each of them, along with her many friends and loved ones, carries forward the memory of her gentle spirit and loving heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Yvonne; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Celestine and Ilone Ketter; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronald and Sally Ketter; and her nephew, Ricky Johnson.

Sherryl’s life was one of care, grace, and quiet strength. She gave so much of herself to her family, her work, her church, and her community. She will be remembered with love and gratitude, and her memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
