Work to resurface a portion of U.S. 36 in Cheyenne County is expected to start the week of May 18.

The Kansas Department of Transportation project involves milling and overlay on about 25 miles of U.S. 36 starting 3 miles west of St. Francis and ending at the Rawlins County line. Traffic will be reduced to one lane through active work zones and directed by flaggers and a pilot car during daylight hours. Motorists should plan for delays of up to 15 minutes.

KDOT expects to complete the work by the end of July, conditions permitting.

Venture Corporation, of Great Bend, is the primary contractor for the $6.1 million project. For more information, contact KDOT Area Construction Manager Todd Anderson at 785-953-6011 or todd.anderson@ks.gov.
