USD 352 Update: Start of School, New Phone Policy, and Upcoming BOE Meeting

Bill Biermann 8-24-26

The start of the school year came and went for USD 352, with the first day of classes starting on Thursday, August 20th. Bill Biermann, Superintendent of USD 352, joined the Good Neighbor Hour to talk about the beginning of the school year, the new phone policy being implemented, as well as items coming up for their next board of education meeting.

To start, Biermann talked about the beginning of the school year and how it has gone so far. He mentioned how excited he is for school to get going again and having kids in the building. He also noted that so far, everything seems to be going pretty smoothly.

The next item he covered was regarding the new state mandated cell phone and personal electronic device policy. Everything seems to have gone smoothly so far and notes how the communication seems to have gotten better as a result.

"During lunch hour, it'll be nice to see them talking to each other again instead of just being on their phone. You know, it's amazing how some kids acknowledge how much of an addiction they've had."

Lastly, Biermann talked about some items that will be covered during their board of education meeting on Monday, August 24th. He noted that normally they would've had a public hearing for their budget, but due to public notice restrictions, they have to move it to the first meeting in September.

Biermann also highlighted that the BOE will be taking facility tours to find out what exactly they should focus on when it comes to spending and what needs taken care of in the district.

You can listen to the Good Neighbor Hour on Rockit 102.5 KLOE every weekday morning from 5:30-7 am mountain time.
