Wichita is buzzing with excitement, and there's no shortage of events to check out this month. Jemelle Holopirek from VisitWichita.com shares the latest updates on some fantastic happenings in the city!

Shark Exhibit at Exploration Place

If you’ve ever wanted to get up close to a shark (without the fear of Jaws), now’s your chance! The new shark exhibit at Exploration Place offers a jaw-dropping experience where visitors can feel immersed in the ocean as they come face to face with these enormous creatures. Running through May, this exhibit is a must-see for the whole family, offering a unique opportunity to witness the sheer size of these incredible predators up close.

NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament

Wichita is gearing up to host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament from March 20th to 22nd at INTRUST Bank Arena. This is a huge event for the city, and it’s more than just the games. There will be an exciting festival atmosphere with outdoor activities, including an ESPN zone, food trucks, live music, and even a basketball court for locals to enjoy. You don’t have to be inside the arena to experience the energy—there will be a massive big screen set up so fans can watch the games outdoors, making this an event for everyone.

The Vibe of March Madness

Jemelle notes the fun and excitement surrounding March Madness, not just for basketball fans but for everyone. It’s the perfect time to enjoy the city’s vibrant atmosphere, whether you’re watching the games, enjoying the music, or just hanging out with friends and family. There’s something special about the collective energy of Wichita during this time of year!

With so much going on, it’s clear that March is an exciting time to be in Wichita. Be sure to check out the event calendar and make the most of what the city has to offer!
