4th Annual FFA Special Sale Raises Over $16,000 to Support Kansas FFA
and 21 Local Chapters
PLAINVILLE, Kan. – The 4th Annual FFA Special Sale, hosted February 10 at Heartland Regional Stockyards in Plainville, was a resounding success, raising more than $16,000 in support of Kansas FFA and 21 local FFA chapters across the state.
Nearly 4,000 head of cattle were sold throughout the day, drawing strong participation from producers, buyers, and supporters of agricultural education. Through per-head donations from buyers and sellers, sponsorships, and special sale credits, the event once again demonstrated the agricultural community’s deep commitment to investing in the next generation of leaders. As part of the event, buyers and sellers were invited to donate $1 per head—or more—to the local FFA chapter of their choice. Heartland Regional Stockyards matched per-head donations with a contribution to the Kansas FFA Foundation, amplifying the overall impact at both the local and state levels.
The FFA Special Sale was initiated by Brandon Hamel and Lloyd Schneider of Heartland Regional Stockyards as a way to strengthen Kansas FFA and its local chapters. Now in its fourth year, the event continues to grow in both participation and impact.
“The success of this year’s sale is a direct reflection of the generosity and commitment of the agricultural community,” said Johanna Anderes, Kansas FFA Foundation. “We are incredibly grateful to the team at Heartland Regional Stockyards and to our sponsors who make this day possible. Their partnership not only makes this event a success, but it also creates meaningful opportunities for over 14,000 Kansas FFA members and the 21 local chapters supported through this sale.”
Funds raised will help support leadership development conferences, career and leadership development events, scholarships, classroom resources, and hands-on learning experiences for FFA members across Kansas.
The Kansas FFA Foundation extends its sincere appreciation to Heartland Regional Stockyards, the event sponsors, and all buyers and sellers who contributed to the day’s success and to the future of agriculture in Kansas.
