What a weekend! The 29th Annual Pickin’ on the Plains Music Festival in Colby was a HUGE success! With perfect weather, fantastic performances, and a turnout that even included visitors from as far away as Norway, this year’s festival was nothing short of spectacular. 🌟
From the electrifying Grascals to the smooth jazz of the Hot Club of Cowtown, attendees were treated to a blend of everything from bluegrass to Western swing, folk, and even a little bit of jazz. 🎸🌿 Local favorites like The McLemore Experience and High Plains Tradition rounded out the weekend with unforgettable performances that kept everyone tapping their feet.
But beyond the music, the atmosphere was what truly made this festival special. It’s a true family-friendly event, complete with face painting, games for the kids, music workshops, and some of the best food trucks you’ll find anywhere! 🍔🌮 The food? Absolutely delicious. And let’s not forget the community potluck—where everyone’s favorite recipes came together for a perfect kickoff to the weekend.
A Need for Volunteers: Can You Help Keep It Going?
While it’s been an amazing tradition for 29 years, this year the organizers delivered some tough news. The Pickin’ on the Plains Music Festival may not make it another year—unless the community steps up to help. 🫣
The same families have been working hard behind the scenes to make this festival happen year after year. From organizing, planning, marketing, and more—it’s a labor of love. But these volunteers need YOUR help to keep the music alive! 🎶
If you’re interested in getting involved, whether it’s lending a hand with organizing or helping to spread the word, the festival organizers are asking for volunteers to come together and ensure that Pickin’ on the Plains can continue for years to come. 👏
