A Quick Halloween Visit with Colby Police Chief Jake Hess

Halloween is almost here, and Colby Police Chief Jake Hess stopped by the NWKS Radio studios to visit with Kristina about keeping our little ghosts and goblins safe while they’re out collecting candy.

Because, let’s face it, when there’s another house handing out treats across the street, looking both ways might not be the first thing on an excited trick-or-treater’s mind!

Hess shared a few simple reminders: be visible, watch for traffic and cross streets safely. For drivers, that means keeping an extra eye out for kids whose attention may already be on their next candy stop.

Colby’s downtown trunk-or-treat is a great opportunity for Halloween fun, but with plenty of excited children moving around, Hess encouraged everyone to be extra careful. Parents, keep those little ones close, and drivers, watch for youngsters making their way from one treat to the next.

Thanks to Chief Hess for popping in for a quick visit and helping our community get ready for a safe, candy-filled Halloween!
