Earlier last week, a series of unfortunate events lead to a house fire in Benkelman, Nebraska.
On Wednesday, May 13, a family was having a BBQ on their wooden back porch. However, the BBQ grill that they were using was rotted on the bottom, and around 1:30 am in the morning, dispatch was called about the back porch catching on fire.
Charcoals had fallen through the bottom of the grill which led to the wooden porch catching fire.
The fire department was able to control the flames and wrap up the situation around 5:30 am. A lot of the house was impacted by the flames, but fortunately for the family, no people or pets were injured.
