Picture this: It’s still blistering hot at Rock the Plains. Sweat is dripping off everyone’s faces (myself included), but none of that stops Braxton Keith, clad in those signature overalls — with no shirt this time. That “guy-next-door energy” made him as approachable as anyone I’ve met backstage.
We caught up with him right after his set. He had that breezy, laid-back vibe: “I had to hunt you down,” I joked, and he just laughed and apologized that I was hunting him down! Once we connected, the rest of it just flowed easy.
What He Told Me
Kristina: "You played Rock the Plains — what’s it like?"
Braxton: "It’s fun. Festivals like this are great. And playing earlier? Even better—you get to watch and learn from acts like Aaron Watson."
Kristina: "What should people listen to if they’re just discovering you?"
Braxton: "‘Cozy’ is a fan favorite, but right now I’m loving the new one, ‘Baby You Do.’ Also, ‘You Gotta Come Back to the Country’ — those two are solid picks."
The track “Baby You Do” dropped on July 17 and is already making his charisma shine even brighter. Plus, his EP Blue back in 2024 continues to solidify this up-and-comer’s place on the map.
Kristina: "Where do you hope to be a year from now?
"Braxton: "Hopefully back here headlining Rock the Plains—and on tour forever."
Kristina: "So… recording, writing, or touring — what’s your favorite?
"Braxton: "Recording is the best, then writing, then touring. But you need all three, right?"
And then, in true Braxton fashion, he threw in a teaser for what’s ahead: “New music is coming — this month, next month, the month after…” Keep those ears open!

Why It Felt So Real
No filter. No pretense. Just a genuine guy who’s doing the work and enjoying the ride, while still dreaming bigger. From Midland, Texas, to Warner Music Nashville, his journey has been about honoring that honky-tonk twang while carving out a spot for himself in today’s country scene.
When I left our chat, I was so excited because he was one of the top performers I hoped to catch up with! I could tell he was hyped for what’s next. And so am I.
🎶 Pro tip: If you ever get a chance to meet Braxton at the merch tent, don’t walk fast — mosey on over. It’ll be worth it.
