Buffer Week Coming Up for Kansas Athletes

Between each Kansas high school sports season, there is a week known as buffer week. During this week, student athletes are under provisions that ensure they get well rested before the start of the next sports season.
The buffer week between fall and winter sports is coming up November 9th to November 15th. There are multiple restrictions for student athletes during this time, including:
No practices
No offseason weightlifting or conditioning outside of school hours
No open gyms or informal basketball shooting
No wrestling mat workouts
No school-staff supervised workouts at non-school property
No afterhours access to gyms or weightlifting
However, there are a few exceptions to these rules, which includes:
Football teams may practice until their season is over
Teams may have banquets, gear check-ins, or winter locker assignments
One winter sports informational meeting is allowed, and parents may attend
Cheer practice and school-club athletic activities are allowed as long as they are not interscholastic competitions
The first practices for winter sports may begin on November 16th.
You can find a Facebook post from Kansas Pregame below that details buffer week.
