Christmas in Colby Returns This Saturday — Parade, Soup Supper & Santa!

For years, Colby families wrapped up the Christmas Light Parade with the traditional American Legion soup supper—steaming bowls of chili and chicken noodle that warmed everyone up after the Christmas Light Parade. That tradition faded away during the COVID years… but good news: the soup supper is back! Thanks to the Colby/Thomas County Chamber, the community once again has a warm and cozy place to gather after the parade.
And NWKS Radio will be right there in the middle of the holiday fun! Our Rolling Radio will be parked at 4th & Franklin, announcing the parade and playing all your favorite Christmas tunes leading up to the start of the festivities.
🎄 Christmas Light Parade – 5:45 PM
The much-loved Christmas Light Parade kicks off at 5:45 PM, rolling from Second & Franklin, heading downtown, and finishing at Fike Park. This is one of the biggest holiday traditions in Colby—and if you’ve ever seen the streets lined with families, lights, and cheering little ones, you know why!
Santa and Mrs. Claus will once again lead the parade before heading to their new cottage at Fike Park—this is the second year at the new cottage in Fike Park, and the magic just keeps growing.
For those who can’t make it in person, NWKS Radio will stream the parade LIVE on our Facebook page so nobody misses the magic.
🍲 Soup Supper Returns! – 5:30 to 7:30 PM
The Chamber is bringing back a beloved tradition: a community Soup Supper at a new location the Senior Progress Center by Fike Park from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Expect all your favorites—chili, vegetable beef, and several other homemade soups—plus crackers, cookies, drinks, and even to-go containers for anyone who wants something warm to take with them.
This is a great way to warm up after the parade, support local community events, and enjoy an evening full of small-town Christmas spirit.
🎅 Santa City – 6:00 to 8:00 PM
After their ride through downtown, Santa and Mrs. Claus will head straight to Santa City, located right next to the Senior Progress Center. Families can grab a bowl of soup, walk over, and get pictures with the jolly couple from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
