PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: Closure of Red River Commodities Sunflower Processing Facility in Colby, KS

Red River Commodities announces the upcoming closure of its sunflower processing facility in Colby, KS, with operations officially ending on April 17, 2025. This difficult decision comes after a thorough evaluation of our operations, and we want to take this opportunity to recognize the facility’s long-standing contributions to both our company and the local community.

Established to expand our sunflower processing capabilities beyond our Fargo, ND plant, the Colby facility has played a crucial role in our mission to transform specialty crops into premium food ingredients. Strategically located in the heart of sunflower-growing regions, this plant has not only ensured high-quality production but also fostered strong relationships with local farmers, contributing to the agricultural strength of the region.

For years, the dedication of our Colby team and the support of the surrounding community have been instrumental in our success. We are deeply grateful to our employees, suppliers, and partners who have been part of this journey. As we transition through this closure, we remain committed to supporting our workforce and ensuring a smooth wind-down process.

We thank the Colby community for its years of collaboration, and we appreciate your understanding during this time of change.
