Beneath clear skies and crisp spring winds, Dennen Field in Colby came alive Friday as middle school athletes from across northwest Kansas gathered for a full day of competition and camaraderie. The annual Colby Middle School Track Meet brought together teams from more than a dozen schools—Hays, Goodland, Weskan, Hoxie, Wallace County, Grinnell, Brewster, and others—for what proved to be one of the most competitive meets of the season.

The 2025 Colby Eagle Invitational brought together some of northwest Kansas’ top high school golf talent on a crisp spring day, with a competitive leaderboard and individual highlights that showcased the depth of the field.

Larry L. Chambers, age 86, of Rexford, Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

Shirley Ann Durham was born on August 25th, 1940, to Edward and Rose (Kral) Hamm, and sadly passed away on April 30th, 2025. She was 84 years old.
