Colby’s City Council held a meeting last night and the big topic of conversation was the in-progress STAR Bond Project.
A motion was approved for the city to approve the STAR Bond Project plan, done after the state approved the project.
For those who don't know, the STAR Bond Project would use sales tax money to fund new developments in Colby, including a multi-purpose arena and more businesses.
Multiple other ordinances were approved, including Ordinance 1697, related to creating a community improvement district within the STAR Bond district and two ordinances regarding bond money for the purpose of new hotels.
Ordinance No. 1507 was also discussed, regarding the allowance of skates and other non-motorized wheels on the trail, like rollerblades or skateboards. The ordinance was not approved or denied, only discussed after a presentation by Mindy Bell.
The power outage scheduled for Friday morning at 7 AM local time was also discussed, but they still do not have an estimated time on how long it will last.
