Colby Community Welcomes Incoming Superintendent Dr. Kevin Warner

Students, teachers, and parents had the opportunity to meet the future leader of Colby Public Schools USD 315 Monday afternoon during a Meet & Greet held at the Colby High School Commons Area.

The event, which ran from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., gave the community a chance to connect with Dr. Kevin Warner ahead of his official start date of July 1, 2026. Dr. Warner was approved and hired by the USD 315 School Board in mid-December 2025.

“I am deeply honored and incredibly excited to be selected as the next Superintendent of Colby Public Schools,” Dr. Warner shared in a statement. “I am genuinely looking forward to serving the students, families, and staff of this excellent district. My family and I are also very excited about becoming a part of the Colby Eagles community!”

Dr. Warner brings a strong background in education, with 21 years of K–12 experience and an additional two years at the collegiate level. Known as a collaborative and student-focused leader, he has held a variety of roles throughout his career, including teacher, coach, principal, and assistant superintendent. He currently serves as Assistant Superintendent for Ulysses USD 214.

Dr. Warner will succeed current superintendent Katina Brenn, who announced her resignation in May 2025. Brenn will officially step down on June 30, 2026, after serving the district for a decade.

With a new chapter on the horizon, the Colby community is already beginning to welcome Dr. Warner and his family as they prepare to join the Eagles.
