Congressman Tracey Mann Highlights Veterans Legislation, Farm Support, and Tornado Recovery in Weekly Update

by Derek White

In his latest weekly newsletter, Representative Tracey Mann shared a comprehensive look at the priorities guiding his work in Washington as the U.S. House reconvenes for a week of legislative activity.

With Memorial Day approaching, Mann emphasized efforts to honor and support the nation’s veterans. He backed bills aimed at expanding resources for disabled veterans, improving access to VA services, and streamlining claims processes. “Our veterans put their lives on the line to protect our freedoms, and they deserve the utmost gratitude,” Mann wrote.

Mann also provided updates on advancing House Republican legislative goals, including the proposed One Big Beautiful Bill Act, designed to rein in spending while strengthening national defense. He reiterated his commitment to stopping impending tax increases for American families in January 2026.

For Kansas agriculture, Mann spotlighted action in the House Agriculture Committee to reinforce the farm safety net while reforming the SNAP program. He noted the plan’s $60 billion investment in crop insurance, trade promotion, and support for land-grant institutions like K-State.

Closer to home, Mann expressed his concern for those affected by recent tornadoes in Gove, Reno, and Kiowa counties. “Audrey and I are devastated by the damage,” he said, assuring constituents that his office is in contact with local officials and ready to help with recovery.

Mann also commemorated National Police Week, expressing strong support for law enforcement and condemning efforts to “defund or demoralize” public safety agencies.

Additional highlights from the week included visits with organizations such as the National FFA, the American Feed Industry Association, and the Independent Community Bankers of America. Mann also explored new agricultural technologies with MyLand and celebrated American innovation at the Construction on the National Mall event in D.C.

As always, Mann encouraged Kansans visiting Washington to reach out to his office for help with tours or federal services.
