Exciting Times Ahead: The Colby Community College Rode

This week, the Thomas County Fairgrounds in Colby, Kansas, will be buzzing with excitement as the Colby Community College Rodeo kicks off from September 12th through the 14th. We’re thrilled to share details about this fantastic event on the Good Neighbor Hour, sponsored by Hitchcock Incorporated.

Event Schedule and Details

The rodeo promises a weekend full of thrilling performances and rodeo action. Here’s what you can look forward to:

- Thursday, September 12: The rodeo begins with a performance at 7 PM, followed by some thrilling slack barrel racing.

- Friday, September 13: Enjoy a full day of slack from 9 AM until the afternoon. There will also be another performance at 7 PM.

- Saturday, September 14: The excitement continues with slack in the morning and another performance at 7 PM, featuring the top 12 contestants in each event.

Meet the Team

We had the pleasure of speaking with Coach Hayes and Sadie, a freshman at Colby Community College, who are both buzzing with excitement about the upcoming rodeo. Coach Hayes shared that the students have been working tirelessly to prepare for this event, ensuring everything is set for a top-notch experience.

Sadie, a passionate and talented student, is particularly excited about showcasing the hard work of her fellow students and delivering an outstanding performance. “We have a very talented group of young adults here, and everyone is putting their heart and soul into not just competing but also putting on a great show,” she said.

Tickets for the rodeo can be purchased in advance at Vanderbilt’s in Colby or at the gate on the event days. Performances start at 7 PM each night.
