The Wheatland-Grinnell Thunderhawks, who are ranked in the top five teams in 6-Man, came into the final regular season game with only one loss to number one Weskan. The Golden Plains Bulldogs came in with only two losses and trying to prove that they can compete with the best of the best. However, the Thunderhawks were too much to handle for the Bulldogs, and Wheatland-Grinnell bests Golden Plains 49-0, ending the contest at halftime.

First Quarter

It was a hot start for the Thunderhawks, as they received the opening kickoff and took only four plays to find the endzone. It was a 41-yard shovel pass touchdown for Branton Goetz to start off the game. The kick after was good giving us the 8-0 score.

Disaster struck for Golden Plains on the ensuing kickoff, as the ball bounced an awkward direction for the returner, he fumbled, and the Thunderhawks scoop up the ball and score it. Jackson Foster was the one to put it in the endzone for Wheatland-Grinnell, who improves their lead to 14-0.

The Bulldogs would get possession of the ball, but after a quick three-and-out, they punted it away. Goetz would once again make his presence known, taking a handoff up the middle and in for the touchdown from 45-yards out. The lead was now 20-0.

After another quick three plays that went nowhere for the Bulldogs, they lined up to punt, but the Thunderhawks special teams made a big play once more, as Hancock blocked the punt and proceeded to pick up the ball and run it in for another big play touchdown by Wheatland-Grinnell. 28-0 was the lead after the end of the first quarter.

Second Quarter

The Thunderhawks put in three more touchdowns in this quarter, starting with a rushing touchdown from Goetz again, this time from 5-yards away. It was 36-0.

Another Bulldog punt led to another touchdown for Wheatland-Grinnell, this time a passing touchdown from Riley Tuttle to Spencer Beckman from 7-yards away. 42-0 was the lead after this score.

One more punt from the Bulldogs gave the Thunderhawks great field position to put in their final score of the game, which was a Goetz run from 4-yards away. 49-0 was the final score.
