Fairs and Parades Fill the Air Across Northwest Kansas

It’s officially fair season across northwest Kansas, and communities throughout the NWKS Radio listening area are buzzing with events, entertainment, and tradition. From livestock shows and parades to concerts and antique steam engines, there's something for everyone to enjoy this week and next.
🎡 Fair Highlights:
The Logan County Fair and Wallace County Fair are in full swing now through Saturday, August 2nd. These annual celebrations feature classic fair favorites—from 4-H exhibits and carnival rides to food stands and local showcases. Make plans to attend the Logan County Parade at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 2nd!
Over in Wallace County, Season 22 winner of The Voice, Bryce Leatherwood, takes the stage for a free concert Thursday, July 31st at 8 p.m. MST—don’t miss it!
🚜 More Events Rolling In:
The 72nd Annual Bird City Thresher Show kicks off Thursday, July 31st and runs through Saturday, August 2nd. This year’s event includes the 33rd Annual National Rumely Collectors Expo, steam engine races, daily antique parades, and more. It’s a mechanical marvel of historic farm equipment you won’t want to miss.
Also starting Saturday, August 2nd is the Sherman County Fair & Northwest Kansas District Free Fair in Goodland. Highlights include a community parade Saturday evening at 6 p.m., along with exhibits, livestock shows, and youth activities continuing into next week.
And don’t forget—Friday, August 1st marks the final race of the season at Thomas County Speedway in Colby! If you haven't made it to the track this summer, this is your last chance to cheer on your favorite drivers under the lights.
Looking ahead, the Decatur County Fair and Cheyenne County Fair begin Tuesday, August 5th and Wednesday, August 6th, respectively.
