Fatal Accident Occurred on I-70 Sunday

More information has been released on the accident that caused I-70 at mile marker 156.7 to close yesterday.
At 3:55 Central Time, one man was hit and killed by a 2026 Freightliner semi as the victim and two others
were on the north shoulder of the highway loading a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe onto a trailer pulled by a 1996 Ford F250, according to the KHP.
The pedestrian closest to the road was struck by the semi while strapping the Tahoe down. The victim, Julio Caesar Villareal, a 37-year-old man from Wakeeney, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alejandro Fuentes-Castro, a Delaware man, was driving the Freightliner and experienced no injury from the accident.
The other two pedestrians strapping the Tahoe on the trailer, Randall L. Hilgers, a 42-year-old Wakeeney man, and Juan A. Mejia, a 53-year-old San Diego man, and the passenger in the F250, 11-year-old Lucas Childress from Wakeeney, were all uninjured.
