Ferman L. Gibson, 69, of Oakley, died Friday, October 24, 2025. He was born December 21, 1955, to J. Duane and Betty Gibson of Monument, KS. Ferman was the fourth child born into this family: Janet M. Collins, of Oakley, Ernest L. Gibson (deceased), Larry L. Gibson (deceased) and Amby L. Gibson (deceased).
Ferman graduated from Oakley High School in 1974. In a note the family found, Ferman wrote that he was so glad that God told him to go help people, so he went on to become a certified nurses aid. He said it was one of the best decisions he made.
He married Karen Weber and to this union two children were born, Justin (deceased) and Amanda, of Colby. He also had three grandchildren that he loved very much.
Ferman worked several jobs through the years in which he was always caring for people less fortunate than him. He was always kind and caring to all.
He loved his many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In the last several years, Ferman had many medical challenges including strokes and heart attacks, but he still continued to help others. Serving others was definitely his love language.
A graveside service will take place at 4:00 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2025, at the Monument Cemetery, Monument, KS.
