ree

The heart of Goodland will be buzzing this weekend as the Flatlanders Fall Festival returns with a packed schedule of events, entertainment, food, and community fun. Sherman County Community Development is putting the final touches on preparations, and excitement is building across the region.

Friday Night Kickoff

The festival begins Friday evening with Weekend on the Bricks Car Show registration from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the USD 352 Admin Building (1311 Main Street). Early participants can get signed up for the full weekend of car and bike events.

Meanwhile, Chambers Park will come alive starting at 5:30 p.m. with live music by Jimmy D Band and Fabulous Destination. Sherman County is also sponsoring a free barbecue for the first 600 people, with the Colorado Smokin’ BBQ Butts serving up plates hot off the smoker.

Saturday is when the festival really hits full throttle.

  • Weekend on the Bricks Car Show registration opens at 8 a.m. at the USD 352 Admin Building.

  • Bikes on the Bricks Bike Show registration starts at 9 a.m. at Freedom Hall (formerly the VFW).

At 10 a.m., the Flatlanders Fall Festival officially opens, with more than 75 vendors, food trucks, and activities lined up along Main Street. A steady flow of live music from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. will keep the energy going, with performances at West 12th Street near the Goodland Arts Center and throughout downtown.

Family-friendly activities include pumpkin decorating at Designs Unlimited, a rock wall and zip line for kids, and bike rodeo games in the afternoon.

Adults can also enjoy new options this year: beer garden stations hosted by Traditions at 9th, 11th, and 15th Streets, along with the KC Cocktail Beverage Garden at 1312 Main, featuring specialty margaritas.

Evening Entertainment

The fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down.

At Sherman County Speedway, the ATV Big Air Tour kicks off with gates opening at 4 p.m. and the show starting at 5 p.m. (cash only, $10 admission).

Back downtown, the Car & Bike Show Cruise Parade rolls down Main Street at 8 p.m., showcasing the vehicles and bikes that wowed crowds earlier in the day.

Live music will keep the party going late into the night with Strings Attached playing for a community dance at Freedom Hall, while The Atomic Drifters perform at Matt Murray’s shop from 9 to 11 p.m.
