Hoxie dominates the 3-2-1A regional wrestling tournament

Hoxie is the regional wrestling champions of 3-2-1A with 8 individual champions, and 11 qualifying for the state tournament.  The team traveled to Cimarron on Feb. 22 to compete with the rest of the region for a spot at state.  Hoxie took first with 247 points, followed by Norton with 165.5 points, and Hill City finished in third place with 142.5 points. 

 

The Hoxie Indians traveled to Cimarron on Saturday, Feb. 22 with fourteen wrestlers trying to qualify for state the following weekend.  In Hoxie’s case, they ended the day with eleven wrestlers hitting the podium and qualifying for the state tournament in Hays beginning Feb. 28.


For tournament champions Hoxie was blessed with Bradyn Wilson, Ian Giancola, Kash Schiltz, Etson Moreno, Duncan Bell, Easton Nickelson, and Sam Watkins all dominated their weights to be crowned regional champions.



Three Indians finished as runners-up, Gunner Wente, Giovanny Gomez, and Mathew Bretz rounded out the state team for Hoxie in 2025.
