Hoxie, KS (September 18, 2025) – The Board of Education of Unified School District No. 412, Sheridan County, met for a special meeting Thursday morning at 7:00 a.m. in the district boardroom in Hoxie.

Board President Michael Bretz called the meeting to order, and the group began with the flag salute. Board Clerk Mandy Shipley took roll call, confirming that all seven members were present, along with Superintendent Sharris Werner, Principal Chris Gardner, and several guests. The agenda was approved unanimously.

Because notification of the meeting had been made by phone the previous day, a Waiver of Written Notice was signed by all members.

At 7:02 a.m., the Board entered into a 15-minute executive session to discuss a personnel matter under the Kansas Open Meetings Act (KOMA). Following the closed session, the board reconvened in open session and voted to accept the resignation of Ethan Stickel, Director of Transportation and Maintenance, effective September 30, 2025.
