Injury Crash Reported in Gove County

A serious crash occurred late Thursday afternoon, September 11th, in rural Gove County.


According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 4:45 p.m. in the 1600 block of County Road 58, about 13 miles south of I-70. A northbound 2006 Toyota Tacoma left the roadway to the right before the driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to veer across the road, enter the east ditch, and then overturn multiple times.


The pickup came to rest facing west in the west ditch. The driver was ejected during the rollover and was found in the east ditch.


Emergency responders transported the 21-year-old male driver to Wesley Medical Center with suspected serious injuries. Authorities noted that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.


The vehicle was removed by Jack’s Repair. The incident remains under investigation.
