Injury Crash Reported Southeast of Colby

A two-vehicle crash southeast of Colby Wednesday afternoon resulted in one person being taken to the hospital.


According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 3:40 p.m. Thursday, September 3, at the intersection of County Road R and County Road 22, approximately one mile south of U.S. Highway 24 in Thomas County.


The patrol reports that a 2014 Ford F-150, driven by 57-year-old Scotty Francis Zeller of Colby, was traveling south on County Road 22 and approaching County Road R. A 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 32-year-old Hayden Scott Petty of Freedom, Oklahoma, was traveling east on County Road R.


Zeller was transported to Colby Hospital with a possible injury, described as a complaint of pain. He was wearing a seat belt. Petty was also wearing a seat belt and reported no apparent injuries.
