KDOT Announces Approved September Bids; Eight in Northwest District

The Kansas Department of Transportation announces approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects. The letting took place on Sept. 16 in Topeka. Some of the bids may include multiple projects that have been bundled based on proximity and type of work.

Eight total projects were approved in District Three, the Northwest District of Kansas. Those are detailed below:

Cheyenne – U.S. 36: From the Colorado/Kansas state line east to Road 11, milling and overlay, 10.2 miles, Bettis Asphalt & Construction Inc., Topeka, Kansas, $2,260,501.26.

Decatur – U.S. 83: From the north end of the Portland Concrete Cement Pavement (PCCP) north of U.S. 36, north to the Kansas/Nebraska state line, milling and overlay, 12.4 miles, Venture Corporation, Great Bend, Kansas, $6,595,712.16.

Decatur – U.S. 83: In Oberlin, from the Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (PCCP) south of West Sappa Street north to the U.S. 36/U.S. 83 junction, milling and overlay, 1.0 mile, Venture Corporation, Great Bend, Kansas, $409,388.70.

Decatur – U.S. 36: From the Decatur/Rawlins county line, east to the U.S. 36/U.S. 83 junction, milling and overlay, 11.0 miles, Venture Corporation, Great Bend, Kansas, $2,614,165.03.

Rawlins – K‑117: From the U.S. 36/K‑117 junction north to the Kansas/Nebraska state line, milling and overlay, 12.0 miles, Venture Corporation, Great Bend, Kansas, $2,332,957.20.

Rawlins – U.S. 36: From 0.3 mile east of the U.S. 36/K‑25 junction east to the Decatur/Rawlins county line, milling and overlay, 16.2 miles, Venture Corporation, Great Bend, Kansas, $4,345,620.80.

Sheridan – K‑23: From Walnut Avenue north to 0.089 mile north of the U.S. 24/K‑23 junction, milling and overlay, 0.6 mile, Bettis Asphalt & Construction Inc., Topeka, Kansas, $227,167.82.

Sheridan – U.S. 83: From the Thomas/Sheridan county line north to 0.04 mile south of the U.S. 83/K‑23 junction, milling and overlay, 10.6 miles, Bettis Asphalt & Construction Inc., Topeka, Kansas, $2,484,391.13.
