Lisa Diane (Kough) Schroeder, daughter of Harry “Conrad” Kough and Betty Ann (Ryan) Kough, was born April 15, 1966, in Scott City, Kansas. She passed away peacefully at her home near Colby, Kansas, surrounded by her family, on January 11, 2026.
Lisa was united in marriage to Kriss Schroeder on March 14, 1986, at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas. Together they shared nearly 40 years of marriage, building a life rooted in faith, family and hard work.
She was a devoted and dedicated mother to their children: Kristi, Nikole, Luke, Joshua, Chelsy, Brett, Julie, Laura, Kurt, Danielle, Justin, Lexie, Eric, Nathan, and Macy. She was also an amazing wife and lifelong friend to her husband, Kriss. Her family was truly the center of her life.
Lisa worked alongside her husband on the farm, kept the farm books, and faithfully managed her home while being a full-time mother and homemaker. She also served her church with great dedication, sharing her musical gifts as a regular pianist and song leader at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for about 35 years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harry “Conrad” Kough and her son, Justin Schroeder.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Kriss Schroeder; her children, Krisi Bird, Nikole Nelson, Luke Schroeder, Joshua Schroeder, Chelsy Blind, Brett Schroeder, Julie Berg, Laura Graham, Kurt Schroeder, Danielle Dold, Lexie Schroeder, Eric Schroeder, Nathan Schroeder and Macy Schroeder; 36 grandchildren; her mother, Betty Ann Kough; her sister, Sherri Baker; and her brothers, Dan Kough, Steve Kough, and Bryan Kough.
Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m., with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Colby. The Funeral Mass is at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Colby, with burial in the church cemetery.
