Match Month is Here: Your Donation to Thomas County Community Foundation Goes Even Further in April

April has officially arrived, and that means one thing in Thomas County-Match Month is underway at the Thomas County Community Foundation.

During a recent interview on NWKS Radio, Director Jada Tubbs joined Joel Navarro to highlight what she calls one of the most exciting times of the year for giving back locally.

A Powerful Opportunity to Multiply Your Impact

Match Month gives community members a unique chance to make their donations go significantly further. Thanks to two generous partners- the Dane G. Hanson Foundation and the Patterson Family Foundation-every dollar donated locally is boosted in a big way.

For every $1 contributed, an additional $2.50 is matched, up to $200,000 in local donations. That means if the community reaches that goal, it will turn into a $400,000 investment back into Thomas County.

Tubbs explained the breakdown:

  • The Hanson Foundation contributes $2 for every $1 donated

  • The Patterson Family Foundation adds another $0.50

“It’s a tremendous opportunity,” Tubbs said. “If you give $10, it turns into $25. If you give $100, it becomes $250. It’s awesome.”

Supporting Local Projects That Matter

The funds raised during Match Month go into a general match fund, which supports a wide range of community projects and organizations across Thomas County.

Just last year alone, the foundation distributed over $316,000 back into local initiatives, including:

  • Reading programs

  • Main Street Arts Council

  • High Point Advocacy

  • Citizens Health

  • Auditorium renovations

  • And many more community improvements

“It’s all about keeping things moving, advancing, and making Thomas County better,” Navarro noted during the interview.

A Community That Keeps Momentum Going

Tubbs emphasized how unique Thomas County is when it comes to community involvement and progress.

“We’re in a time where we’re completing incredible projects, and people continue to get behind them,” she said. “A lot of places do one big project and then pause, but that’s not Thomas County. We keep the momentum going.”

More Than Donations: Grants, Scholarships, and Ideas Welcome

The foundation isn’t just about fundraising, it also supports grants, scholarships, and new ideas to improve the community.

“If you’ve ever thought, ‘I’d love to make Thomas County better by doing this,’ come talk to us,” Tubbs encouraged. “You don’t have to give a big amount to make a big difference.”

This year also includes a fun incentive-a raffle featuring a deck dinner party for 10, provided by the Kappa Upsilon sorority.

For $20 per ticket, the winner receives:
