On November 3rd, Goodland Police Department was trying to locate missing 76 year old Mary "Elaine" Felver. She was reported found safe early that she evening. Today, the Goodland Police Department released this statement on their Facebook page:
"Good morning, Goodland 😁😁
On 11/03/2025 at approximately 1128 AM, the GPD took a report of a missing 76-year-old female. The female left on her bicycle and did not return home as she usually does. As the day progressed, we contacted the Kansas Highway Patrol for assistance. They advised they would have their plane en route to Goodland to assist, along with Troopers on the northwestern side of the state. We also contacted Thomas County Emergency Management Kansas for the use of their drone. At approximately 4:48 PM, she was located seven miles northeast of Goodland, walking in a field, and was safe and not injured. A huge thank you to Trooper Presley, who was in the area searching and found her!!
Moving forward, we will be applying for local grants to purchase a drone equipped with Forward-Looking Infrared (FLIR) technology. With these incidents becoming more frequent, we could definitely use it to assist in saving lives and tracking suspects who are on the run.
A huge thank you to:
- The citizens of Goodland, once again, I saw a lot of vehicles out looking. We appreciate you more than you know. Goodland Rocks!!!
- The GPD Team
- Sherman County Sheriff's Office
- Kansas Highway Patrol
- Thomas County Emergency Management Kansas
- Sherman County Kansas 911 Communications
- Game Warden Hopper
- City of Goodland Streets and Electric Departments (They assisted all day, looking to include after-hours)
- City of Goodland Electrical Department
- I am positive I missed people; if I did, I appreciate all of you for your help!"
We like a happy ending!
