Nebraska Man Seriously Injured in Rawlins County Rollover Crash


A 61-year-old Nebraska man was seriously injured Tuesday morning after the semi-truck he was driving overturned in Rawlins County.


According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 11:34 a.m. Aug. 18 on K-117 at mile marker 11, approximately 11.5 miles north of U.S. 36. The crash was investigated by K-130 and was classified as an injury crash.


The KHP reported that a 2016 Kenworth was traveling south on K-117 when it failed to maintain its lane. The truck traveled onto the right shoulder and into the ditch with its right and left rear tires.


The driver attempted to return to the roadway, but the Kenworth overturned into the right ditch. The driver was ejected from the vehicle.


The driver, Bradley A. Barnes, 61, of Lexington, Nebraska, was transported to Rawlins County Health Center with a suspected serious injury. The crash log states Barnes was not wearing a safety restraint.
